The life of a Crayfish

Crayfish breed sexually, where the males have 2 hard swimmerets to inject the sperm into the female. Eggs will then form on the female’s swimmerets and she will carry them for around 2-20 weeks before her young hatch. These young hatchlings will stay with their mothers until their second molt. They average lifespan is 2 years, but if well kept they can even live up to 4 years. And as for mating, it seems like they do it any time of the day… The males will mate with multiple females if he gets the chance.
