Like triops, their eggs are able to survive for years and will re-emerge when hydrated. But one significant difference is that they will only re-emerge if the salt/water concentration is correct. And not all have the same tolerance.
The common name for artemia, is brine shrimp and they are breed as fish food. A species that was engineered for longer existence and higher tolerance is marketed under the name "Sea Monkeys".
As I am never really successful at rearing brine shrimp pass a few days, the below are details from using the Sea Monkey starter packs which lasted me many months.
