Each pack comes with detailed instructions on how to get your tank started.
Its as easy as, water dump in pack 1, wait for 24 hours and then dump in pack 2.
As the eggs will only hatch if the salt/water concentration is correct and most likely if they hatch in the wrong one, they will not survive very long.
I usually will just pour both packs in and then wait. They are barely visible at first, but in a week they should be easily visible.
Below is my own tank. I used 3 packs of the starter kit which produced about 40~50 of them. But I bottled them up into little glass containers and gave most of them away.
Hopefully more will appear once they mate.
